GTA 6 Money Methods: The Fastest Legit Ways to Get Rich

Money glitches always get patched, so a guide built around them ages badly. This guide ranks every legitimate money method in GTA 6 by dollars-per-hour, so you can pick the grind that fits your session length — and stick with it through patches, DLC updates, and the inevitable economy rebalances Rockstar rolls out over the first year post-launch. Ranked from best solo option to best crew option, with real payout numbers, session timing, and no XP-farming filler.

Independent fan coverage, not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. We separate official announcements from analysis and update this guide when first-party information changes.

The tier list ($/hour, solo)

All numbers are approximate solo payouts at 70+ Shooting stat. Crew payouts scale roughly 1.5-2x depending on crew size and skill. Session-length caveats matter — the S-tier rates assume a full 90-minute uninterrupted run; short 20-minute sessions favor different methods (usually vehicle theft or bounty hunts).

  • S-Tier: Keys Heist (Cayo Perico-style solo) — $900K–$1.2M / 90 min
  • S-Tier: Stock market timing during story missions — one-time $2M+ swings per assassination
  • A-Tier: Cargo warehouse full sell missions — $700K / 60 min (2-4 player)
  • A-Tier: Vehicle theft & export list — $350K / hour, no setup, session-flexible
  • B-Tier: Nightclub passive income — $60K/day, offline-friendly, low risk
  • C-Tier: Street races & bounties — $100-200K/hour, best for cover-between-grinds
  • F-Tier: Any 'money glitch' — patched within 2 weeks, risk of Online bans

Story mission stock market — one-shot mega gains

The most reliable early-game wealth builder is the in-story stock market. During specific assassination missions, both Jason and Lucia's in-story actions swing prices on Bawsaq (Rockstar's fictional stock exchange, returning from GTA V) and LCN (the in-country exchange). Investing everything into the target company right before the hit — and dumping after the price spike — reliably nets $2M-$4M per mission if you play it patiently.

This works ONCE per playthrough per mission, so plan your loadout carefully. Save before each assassination, invest across both characters' accounts (they have separate portfolios), then execute the mission. If you botch the timing, reload the save and re-invest before triggering the mission again. Community consensus is that the top 5 assassination missions combined yield roughly $12-18M in stock gains across a single playthrough — enough to buy every top-tier vehicle and safehouse without touching another money method until post-story.

Heists — the S-tier grind

Post-story heists (repeatable, unlike story heists) are the highest sustained rate in the game. Keys Heist — the Cayo Perico-style solo heist in the Leonida Keys — is the go-to for solo players: 90 minutes prep + execution, $900K-$1.2M solo payout, viable with either Ghost (Lucia) stealth build or a competent Vice Enforcer.

Ideal loadout for solo Keys Heist: Ghost (Lucia) build — Heavy Sniper MK II, AP Pistol with suppressor, Combat Knife. Approach: infiltrate via ocean-side, silently eliminate outer patrols, extract via a helicopter you park during scope-out. Two runs per weekly session yields roughly $2M+ per week purely from the Keys Heist, which is enough to fund every non-cosmetic purchase in the game without touching other methods.

For crew play, Everglades Cartel is the highest-ceiling repeatable heist at $3.5M split across 4 players — see the Heists guide for the crew composition breakdown.

Vehicle theft & export

Once you unlock the export garage in downtown Vice City (post-story, after finishing the Cal-introduces-you-to-the-fixer side mission), the top-tier export list becomes the best no-setup grind in the game. Steal a listed high-end vehicle from a rotating list of 10, drive it clean to the garage, cash out. Payouts scale with vehicle condition — no cop chases, no crashes, no scratches. A clean $180K export takes roughly 15 minutes with practice, which annualizes to $350K/hour without any setup or prep time.

Cal's rotating list refreshes on a weekly cycle. The top-tier vehicles ($400K each) rotate in for 24-48 hour windows and are the ones worth waiting for; skip the base list vehicles unless you're gap-filling between other methods. This is the highest-flexibility money method — you can run it in 15-minute increments between story sessions, which no other method supports.

Passive income — set and forget

Nightclubs, arcade fronts, and warehouse ownership generate money while you're offline or doing story content. Buy the West Vice Beach nightclub first ($1.5M) — highest passive rate ($60K/day) with lowest raid risk of any passive business. The arcade at Grand Ave ($1.2M) is the second-best pick at $45K/day.

Passive income won't make you rich alone, but $60K/day compounds while you grind other methods — over a 30-day playthrough that's an extra $1.8M with no active session time. Combining nightclub passive with active heist grinding is the standard optimization: your passive income covers ammo, vehicle repair, and mid-tier purchases while heist payouts fund the endgame vehicles and MK II weapon conversions.

Why we don't recommend money glitches

Every GTA has had money glitches. Every one got patched, and Rockstar's ban wave on GTA Online (2019 and 2022, both major waves) demonstrated they will remove accounts caught using them or roll back inflated balances to zero. Your $50M glitch balance becomes a permanent character deletion in the worst case, or a permanent $0 rollback in the best case.

If you see a YouTube video promoting a GTA 6 money glitch, check the upload date — if it's more than 3 weeks old, it's almost certainly patched. If it's fresh, expect it patched within 2 weeks and use at your own risk. Rockstar's post-launch anti-cheat investment for GTA Online 2 is significantly higher than GTA Online's was; expect faster patch cycles and more aggressive enforcement.

The optimized weekly loop

For serious grinders, the highest sustained rate combines multiple methods in one session rather than running any single method to burnout. The community-recommended weekly loop: (1) collect nightclub and warehouse passive income at the start of every session, (2) run 2-3 export vehicles for a $500K-$700K warm-up, (3) execute one solo Keys Heist for $900K-$1.2M, (4) end with a cargo sell mission if you have crew available for another $300-500K.

This loop yields $2.5M-$3.5M in a 3-hour session and doesn't burn you out on any single activity. Two loops per week ($5-7M) is enough to fund every mid-endgame purchase in the game — top-tier vehicles, safehouses, weapon MK II conversions, and business upgrades — within a month of post-story play.
